Speaking of alternatives to Proton, i mostly read tuta. Why do people not mention posteo? is there a reason that I am not aware of?
Also mailbox.org
Slightly different markets: Proton and Tuta are both end-to-end encrypted, Posteo is not.
There’s a lot of downsides that come with E2E encryption for email. I have some domains with Tuta, and some with Posteo and Mailbox.
neither of them is e2ee when emailing anyone outside their ecosystem.
One of the nuances of E2EE, but it doesn’t eliminate the benefits.
I think it is harmful for them to advertise as e2ee email because people who don’t understand email or encryption will think their email is encrypted when it very much is not
Love Posteo. Been with them for years.
Posteo is great, but they “only” offer email. If you want the whole package (drive, passwords) it’s not a good fit.
although diversifying might be good anyway
posteo offers calendars and contacts too fwiw
I think there’s value in diversifying.
+1 for Posteo
because they’re a paid service.
