The real move is con icting them for the theft and pain and suffering they caused necessary to accumulate that much wealth. Them and all the people that facilitated it, which still isn’t that many people.
Seize all their wealth, and due to the scale of people they hurt accumulating that wealth, it’s all gonna be life sentences.
If it’s over in an instant the lesson is forgotten quickly.
Throw them in gen pop federal prison with no resources to protect them, and let them rot. That’s a bigger deterrent, and literally the only time sentencing deters crimes is when the criminal already has enough they don’t need to steal.
We need to make it so no millionaire would ever dream of stepping into a grey area, and when they do, we make an example.
If your plan does not include killing ALL billionaires then I’m not interested. We can do the sensible thing right after, but first we must water the earth.
The trouble is that the legal system is required to enforce any of that, and the billionaires have unlimited legal resources; politicians need to enact those laws, and their influence and support can be bought.
To have hope of it suceeding there would need to be overwhelming popular support. And while most people alive know that what’s currently happening in the world needs to change - many disagree on what that change should look like (because they’re misinformed or ignorant). It might take decades to change their minds, and the billionaires own the media…
If it’s over in an instant the lesson is forgotten quickly.
100%, on a historical, societal level.
Trouble is presently there’s no accountability for them, zero they can’t buy their way out of. They think they’re untouchable, and they’re honestly not wrong.
I think they need to be touched. A lot. And hard.
Given the urgency, I don’t much care about the mode or method.
Nothing will get better until we start executing billionaires.
Nah.
