Elon Musk’s xAI recently announced a partnership with AI coding startup Cursor.
The two companies have also explored a three-way partnership with French AI startup Mistral.
Musk is looking to catch up to Anthropic and OpenAI.
I mean, I suppose “know your audience”. If you’re going to the French legislature for money, you pitch accordingly.
“It will be decided in the next two years,” Mensch said during a Tuesday hearing on digital sovereignty and AI at France’s National Assembly, translated by Business Insider.
But for all we know, a big fat chunk of it is Nvidia’s money. It could be 49% of it for all we know, because I can’t find full details of their series C round. On top of that ASML is also profiting from the AI bubble.
They’re either funding it (which they are for sure, since it says so) or they’re 1 degree of kevin bacon from funding it.
Missing the wood for the trees. Also, I’m not the same person that you replied to.
CEO dude decries American domination, yet is quite eager to deepen the dependency and take the money. That is not only contradictory, but reveals him as yet another grifter. This merits critique.
Now go and learn the meaning of confusion. You seem quite confused to me.

You are STILL confused somehow
America/Nvidia dominates AI, he has NO CHOICE but to use American equipment and says Europe is behind and needs to catch up, there is no contradiction here
Feel free to tell me which European made GPU you plan on getting next which competes with Nvidia or AMD

Can you explain further what you’re trying to say?
Musk just leased xAI’s colossus compute facility to Anthropic so they’re pretty much out of the race.
Mistral is mainly funded by Nvidia
no it’s not lol? why are you just making shit up

Its lead by ASML by the looks of it, but a fat chunk of that could be nvidia. We don’t know.
how quickly you went from mainly funded by nvidia to we don’t know

what are you an ai:
mistral is mainly funded by nvidia
are you sure about that?
you were right to question me, we don’t actually know, insert ramble about nonsense
i don’t know why you willingly joined in on a losing argument
losing argument lol
Tell yourself whatever narrative helps you sleep better, buddy.
They’re part of the same circular financing con:

They’re being nebulous about it.

you’re confused why mistral, the only major european ai company, is purchasing nvidia gpus?
Do I seem confused at all?
yes, you’re like they’re being nefarious!! look! they are acquiring the currently most popular and well supported product for llm training!!!
“Nefarious”
