Android tv has an app called smart tube next which blocks ads on yt. No idea about iOS though. Though not entirely convenient, you could use Orion browser with ublock origin installed

Many people use it on TVs or phones and tablets, not computers. Which makes ad blocking harder or impossible.

Firetv it works. But can’t get it on Roku. But again, most people have no clue about that.

Yes everything is a computer. However not everything can be run installed configured or used as a computer. Some of them are very limited devices.
