I thought it was a myth and that genetics is the most contributing factor ?
I think part of it is sun exposure, my eyesight is much worse than my close relatives, and I was born in Iceland which has much weaker sunlight.
Or to be less alarmist and ‘but everything after I was a kid is bad’
Putting kids in environments where they only ave to focus on things up close ruins distance vision.
