I use youtrack. It’s a project management tool. It’s not open source, but does have a self hostable option.

I feel like most of my googling of simple code is because I know what I’m trying to do, but I don’t remember the correct function name and or language structure for the language I’m currently using.

On my current team, when we were trying to choose a style, my only input was “any style that can be checked/applied with a git commit hook.”

I get some people prefer reading code in a particular format. Let them configure their editor to apply it, but let’s keep the version history in one unavoidably consistent style. Pretty please.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure some compiler settings can change this. I have a fuzzy memory of a bug that went away when compiled with debug flags enabled and the difference was that unassigned variables were being zeroed vs not zeroed.

What if they just put a deposit on them like we do with cans to promote recycling.

I’m not in favor of banning things, but depending how it is structured I could support structured discouraging.

My brother also has his own NAS at his house. We sync our media between both of our servers to both share it and to serve as an off-site backup.

Everything else on my nas gets backed up to a cloud provider.

Like you said, it could be replaced it’d just be inconvenient, and media is kinda bulky so cloud storage for all of it would get a little pricy.

I understand that advertising and branding works. Some are more annoying than others, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter if it’s a banner ad in a website, or a vinal decal on a truck. It is still an ad, and it’s effectiveness at influencing our decisions is not none.

The question was “when did you last see an ad?”. I think my answer is fair. All the friggin’ time.

I see hundreds of ads every day on almost every hat, T-shirt, shoe, hand bag, bus, bus stop enclosure, train, and car I pass throughout the day.

Hell, my neighbor just had his house painted so I literally can’t walk around the block without seeing an yard sign advertising a painting company.

Getting into rust is still on my to-do list, otherwise I’ve no major problem with pip or npm. They both have their flaws, but both work well enough to do what I need them for. If I had to prefer one it would be pip simply to sustain my passionate hate for all things JavaScript.
