No source will be ever completely free of a bias, but Wikipedia is still way more reputable than the two sources linked here.

Again: I’m not saying that the original article is wrong. I just say that claims by any news outlet that a) isn’t too popular or b) that has a strong and well-documented bias in one direction must be questioned until proven right.

And MEMO, according to Wikipedia, has a long history of pro Hamas propaganda back until 2009, long before the current war even started.

Really not sure if this is a reputable news source. Never heard of this website and as others mentioned here, there seem to be no reports on this topic in the bigger general press outlets.

With reputable sources I don’t necessarily mean western media, but also e.g. Al Jazeera doesn’t seem to report on this topic. Which would be huge if true.

That’s still heartbreaking and horrible, but quite a different story than Israel explicitly placing ecplosives disguised as toys.

I know about some disadvantages of dams but I’m not sure if - in many regions - we have much of an alternative to buffer water over different seasons. We used to have huge glaciers in the mountains which retained snow in winter and released water in summer. But as more and more glaciers disappear, we have to come up with artificial measures to store water for agriculture, drinking water etc.

If we then can harvest electricity on top, that’s a nice byproduct from my perspective.

The fun and interesting part of these collaborative art projects is that everything can be overriden anytime by anyone with whatever they want. If you want to make pixel art without disturbance, you can do so in any offline editor of your choice.

I believe there’s a pretty low chance of any meltdowns or nuclear events, due to so many fail-safes.

And if no radioactive material is set free, isn’t it still available to keep producing nuclear weapons? According to a German article Iran is estimated to already have sufficient Uranium for 15 nuclear bombs.

In my simple mind that means you either have to directly destroy that material (and potentially expose millions of people to it) or if you just destroy the production facilities, you can only slow down the enrichment of further material without impacting the current capabilities. Do I oversee something?

If you bomb a facility that is working with radioactive material that can be used to produce a nuclear bomb, isn’t there a pretty high risk of causing a meltdown? And if so isn’t that pretty similar to Israel dropping a nuclear bomb on Iran themselves?

Are there piracy related websites with a domain from the EU or any western country? I thought for this very reason they always go for .to, .cc, .in and so on…

I really like how respectful canvas is compared to place. At least so far people mainly tried to draw around other even integrated other people’s work like the rainbow mortar that changed the font color on its way but didn’t overwrite it.

I highly doubt that’s a China specific issue. Far too many politicians have additional ‘jobs’ as consultants, speakers or a seat in a supervisory board. At least in Germany it’s unfortunately quite common, especially in the more conservative parties, to have additional income that exceeds your regular salary as a representative.

Would be also interesting to see other people’s up and downvotes but only after you voted. That way you’d still vote unbiased while at the same time getting to know how (un)popular of an opinion you have.

As far as I know there is no plan to phase out Manifest V2 at Mozilla. As long as V2 and V3 are active in parallel it shouldn’t have a negative Impact on adblockers etc.

1. Newer washing machines vary in time depending on how dirty your clothes are. So the same program may take 50 minutes or 90 minutes. This cannot be solved with a regular timer.

2. If you have a job with varying hours, you might want to start the washing mashine when you’re heading home. Then you’re clothes are ready to be hung as you arrive and they aren’t laying around for hours.

3. If you own photovoltaic, you might want to time energy intense home appliances such as washing machines, dish washers etc. to a period of overproduction.

Not saying, these issues are super important but there definitely are use cases for smart devices. However, I’d always recommend using a local / self-hosted rather than a cloud-based solution.
