Cadenza@lemmy.worldtoLemmy Support@lemmy.ml•Why is join lemmy promoting a pedophile instance?
71·2 years agoErr, are you sure about your words op? I just looked at their sidebar and it looks pretty clear about that, no?
Quoting :
“Nothing illegal under US (specifically Nevada) or local law. You know what that includes. (In case you don’t know what that includes, I mean child pornography [anything that fails the Dost Test], sexually interacting with minors, etc.) We have a zero tolerance policy for anything that fails the Dost test. Anything violating it will result in an immediate ban and removal of images. No admitting to anything that could cause the server to go under investigation, such as looking at child porn.”
Edit : Well, looks like they don’t enforce this rule indeed.
Oooh, nevermind then!
As far as I understand, they didn’t enable federation yet and I’m not sure preemptive defederation is a thing. Additionaly, IIRC, you cant defederate with anything as a user (although you can block), your instance can.
I might be wrong, though

1·3 years agoLucky you’re not on lemmy.world… ^^ I had to switch to liftoff after jerboa 0.35 and the strange choice they made of enforcing lemmy v0.18 while it wasn’t even out. Were now locked out of jerboa for weeks if not months while were the largest lemmy instance ^^

Jerboa@lemmy.ml•Please, add a language selector. Forced translations on the latest version are a bit of a mess.
2·3 years agoI’ll be changing my old phone in two weeks but my heart stays with people who, for whatever reason (e.g. : broke), are stuck on older phones capping at Android 9.
I know I know, I was being salty. Still a weird way to do things, and one that should be avoided imo, I suppose it’s useful to say it out loud. But you’re right.
Well in case it helps anyone and despite my current saltyness, I found my way back.
I went to lemmy.world on my mobile browser. Dced from my wifi/data. Long press on a post. Share => Select Jerboa from the app list. Jerboa succesfully opened. Back to its main menu. Go to Login. Enter credentials. Reconnect to wifi/data. Login.
It worked for me. Maybe it’ll help someone.
Hopefully, better and more respectful android apps will be out soon.
All the more so since lemmy.world will skip 0.18 and wait for 0.18.1.
This and clunky mandatory UI translation (for poor people stuck on older android).

Jerboa@lemmy.ml•Work around: upgrade to 0.0.35 and avoid crashing
32·3 years agoI wish it worked. But no.
This update to a still non existing version of lemmy basically locking your whole user base except lemmy.ml from using your app and relying on black magic to hope to downgrade. Way to tell said userbase to f off.

I’m not sure it’s in those exact terms, but I think there were a few cases with high levels of preparation. Ended up being ruled as suicides anyway by the courts and the media. Not saying they’ll always win, though. But their idealogical power is not to underestimate.
A minister in my country was deemed to have committed suicide by drowning in a 50cm body of water. Strangely enough, all witnesses have committed suicide too just before being heard by the courts.
And it worked. Everybody know it wasn’t a suicide, but it changes nothing for those responsible of the murder.
