Ive been looking at those anker solix battery systems they supposedly can be used as a ups but haven’t looked into how well and you can plug solar panels into them which was my original goal to reduce the power usage from the grid at least for part of the day

I started with my old gaming rig as a server, any decent intel cpu with quicksync is very good for plex and transcoding saving having to buy a cpu if you went with like a server grade cpu with no igpu
I used nextcloud to replace Google drive, i was using the calendar but ended up using the protonmail one instead

I have immich machine learning and ollama with openwebui
I use immich search a lot to find things like pictures of the side of the road to post on my community !sideoftheroad@lemmy.today
I almost never use the ollama though, not really sure what to do with it other than ask it dumb questions just to see what it says
I use the duckduckgo one when it auto has an answer to something I searched but its not too reliable
Get steam-headless running on there

It let’s your accounts blow off steam so they use excel better instead of filling the account ting sheets with dirty messages

Like seperate articles based off of topics automatically?

I have grav for a super basic site and blog I never update. Its like flat files of text you can just edit i also use cloudflare tunnel for it
I used lidarr to sync my followed artists from spotify and then just use plex and plexamp for music, all my plex users have access to it also but I think most people still have spotify so it’s just mainly me using it

Dang that’s sucks, I never used it but it’s neat in concept
My coworker recommended me unraid, so I tried it and similarly I was upgrading to a new gaming rig so my old gaming rig became my server. It was a mini itx i7 and I started with two 2tb hard drives then just went from there. Learning all the arrs by following the ‘trash guides’ then expanding out. A lot of trial and error and slowly upgrading drives over time.
Now I’m close to 100tb of data and have several family members using my plex server as their only streaming service plus a ton of personal stuff like rss and audio books etc

So if I had more memory channels it would be better to have say ollama use the cpu versus the gpu?

Was it easy to get something like plex to have it show up correctly? I remember it was a pain to get tubesync to name things in a way that plex accepted it

I’ve been using Tubesync but the pinch one linked looks much cooler and easier

Very cool!
Actual let’s you import downloaded statements in qfx or whatever format
That’s how I used it anyway since I didn’t want any third party I would just download a months worth of transactions and import them into actual then start setting up automatic tagging or manual if it’s a one off transaction

Shady German Retailers Spin Refurbished Drives As New gate

After this they will stop and start slapping a $1000 label
the way I do it is open up lemmy on the browser and you can copy the fediverse link and paste it into mastodon to search for it, but federation is a whole thing so not everyone who sees something from their instance sees everything from every instance depending on who is federated with who, so with mastodon and lemmy it gets a little weird. Ive seen some tools that help pull more content that otherwise your instance wouldnt automatically get itself so that you can see more replies etc but I havent messed around with that
