It should be clear to anyone with more than an 🦠 for a brain cell that it is a failed ideal.

Kodi + (insertname)debrid or stremio+ (insertname)debrid … either will let you stream torrents in much better quality than the streaming sites and no need to horde.
Also, i’m fairly sure there’s some torrent clients that allow streaming of the torrent file, I’m not sure if they’re still around but I think Vuze was one, I don’t used desktops any more just mobile/tablet so my knowledge might now be out of date.

For the first time I opened a link which went to the native app, OMG it is unusable with ads.
If that’s the expected way of using YouTube then I’m out, especially as I live in a location where I can’t pay for Premium even if I wanted to

Let’s be honest the majority of endusers use a particular app, in the main, because its most likely what everyone else in their friend group uses.
In my case WhatsApp, I’d struggle to get all my friends and family to change at this point.

There objective will be simple, monetize and if they can’t, kill off the competition.

Choice should be with the user not forced upon him.
hellequin67@lemmy.fmhy.mlto Jerboa@lemmy.ml•Is there a way to follow an entire instance?6·2 years agoWould be nice if there was a way block a whole instance.
I know it’s restriction on the platform side but maybe some instance filtering could be built into the app which could work then same way effectivley blocking visibility of a whole instance.
Just a thought and I don’t know how many users would want/use it.
I posted this on a different thread to downgrade your version.
May be helpful if your instance doesn’t update in a timely manner.
The latest version on the playstore is 0.0.35.
I was able to download the previous version 0.0.34 from github which doesn’t have the v 0.18 issue.
As soon as your lemmy instance updates to 0.18 you should be able to update the jerboa app without any issue.
I’m having the same issue since the latest Jerboa update 0.0.35 Looks like i’ll have to install a previous version from fDroid.

The price the UK will have to pay. What can I say, play stupid games win stupid prizes.
But even that price would be more beneficial than the present state of affairs.
