I’m getting flashbacks to Jan-Feb 2022. That’s what people thought about Ukraine despite intelligence reports warning that Putin is making moves.

Of course, Poland is in EU and NATO, so it’s definitely in a better position, but keep in mind that all deterrents have limits — as we speak there’s a full-on war being fought between two nuclear powers.

The promises of an alliance treaty are, at the end of the day, just that: promises. Posturing to scare off potential attackers. Just because we’ve never seen someone actually call that bluff, doesn’t mean it will never happen.

A guy like Putin could gamble that NATO countries won’t send troops to Poland because they’ll make similar calculations as towards Ukraine: that it’s not worth risking nuclear war. He already sees how NATO countries right now are behaving, pussyfooting around giving aid to Ukraine, so he could believe they will approach Article 5 with the same limp attitude. Especially now that USA is talking about leaving NATO and antagonizing Europe like never before.

Plus, all the “why should we help Ukraine” type rhetoric coming out of the European MAGA-aligned sphere is easily adaptable to Poland: “Why should we help Poland? Just because they’re in NATO? I’m not a globalist, I look after the interest of my own country first because I’m a patriot. I don’t want to send my people to fight NATO’s wars. I refuse to die for the globalists!”

I suppose it wouldn’t matter at that point? I’m not sure what you mean exactly. There’s a lot of instability in America right now as it tries to become fully fascist, and I think the world (to any Americans reading this — this includes you too!) has to decide whether they’re fine with it or not, which will in turn affect its success in becoming fully fascist. Anything done to make it harder for the transformation to complete could turn the tide, since they’re more vulnerable while things are in motion. Once it’s done and that becomes the norm, it’s going to become much more difficult.

I get where you’re coming from. I’m no fan of China and they’re definitely fascist in my book, but if I had to choose between China and this America, then definitely China. The reason being that a successful fascist America will add even more suffering to the world than there already is. Still, I would prefer an option from a democratic country succeeds — although if we’re talking strictly local use of Chinese (or even US) tech, I don’t really see how that helps the country itself. If someone actually did something to him, you’d get martial law the next day and everyone vaguely leftist would get shot in the head. You don’t want that!

Get people on your side, organize, and attack the system, and do it as legally as possible. Make them (by which I mean the party, starting with local officials) afraid of how many of you there are. Use Musk as the symbol of evil around which to get people angry, don’t advocate for someone to make him a martyr…

You say “destroy” but you mean murder. That’s not okay. I know the Paradox of Tolerance, and it doesn’t say to jump to straight-up murder. That should never be the first thought, it should be the worst case scenario.

I don’t know, I’m principally against the death penalty. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t lose sleep if a nazi is granted an early exit, and it’s of course fine to kill nazis in video games since it’s not real. Also, I do like the revolutionary energy of those stickers, I understand where they’re coming from (the goal is to make nazis afraid and I’m all in on that!). Still, they advocate for stuff outside of my morality. I’m fine removing power from nazis, by force if necessary (usually is because they’re assholes who don’t give a crap about the social contract) but I don’t see killing anyone (or anything) as something to be desired, I can only agree with it when it’s a self-defense/survival type scenario. I guess one exception would be if it’s someone like Putin: well guarded, very difficult to apprehend, and kills people by the day for every day he’s not stopped, so it kind of makes it a self-defense/survival thing even if it would have to be planned in advance.
