o7 godspeed! i appreciate you your effort. the spirit of this project does sound so cool so i was a little heartbroken.
enjoy the edible!

the closed issue speaks of that!
Edit:
also thanks for braving reddit for us!

the reason i pumped the brakes, was an issue filed yesterday by a brand new user and closed by the owner. asking why it was sending a bunch of network requests somewhere random. then it was edited for content and the name of the issue was changed by the owner and closed.
my spidey sense pricked up? but I’m just an old stoned n00b so i wanted to hear what the old stoned wizards thought

i am considering spinning up a piefed boi, which at the most, would end up with maybe 5 users.
we’ll see!

yeeeeaaaahhhhh boiiiiii

cool! anyone used it so far?

I have had my eye on this one for years. How scary is it?
sorry for being late to this, but if you’re using pangolin, why put anything else on the vps? this is a great thread!

it makes it all so easy to scp that bitch!

how much RAM does “services” soak up on your install?

truenas core was my first bare metal install! ran awesomely for about a year until i realized i wanted to do more than the freebsd jails were letting me.
and the core install on a proxmox VM was seemingly bulletproof! I kick myself for wanting a syncthing setup without a bunch of mounts and shares. I was elated at the idea that truenas was finally just another debian machine, and my buddy scared me by letting me know that core was on maintenance mode. so i pulled the trigger.
i am debating wiping proxmox and letting this machine be scale on bare metal, but i would have to figure out what to do with immich and jellyfin in the meantime.

heck if i had enough money for paywalls, i’d be donating to: shit i was typing up a whole list before realizing i was basically just announcing my attack surface to the webz.
suffice to say i’d deffa be throwing the open source devs some love!

man that sounds heckin awesome. It is too bad this is the machine i woulda had a netboot setup configured on!

One thing I can be certain of, is that I barely know enough to have this stuff going!
Will learn more about ZFS checkpoints! thanks for the tip

man i didn’t even know VM’s on proxmox could have swap space, here i go learnin again

This is what i am hoping to avoid! But no not yet. Does debian/proxmox have a built in memtest? or is this through bios? OR do i just start removing/swapping RAM?

heck, that is appreciated!
i feel that wholeheartedly. This is a peace of the reason why it took me so long to embrace the arrs.
Once I got it working nice and good, I realized that it wasn’t so much about the hunt for the treasure as much as it was just being in control of (or rather, just out of the control of the preforementioned) everything else implied with the current corpo infra.
what about having navidrome use another “library” that is some manner of separated from the main?
