I might be confusing things, but I’m running calyx on a fair phone 4. Pretty sure that I locked the bootloader after install

Thank you. We had actually already checked this but had not found Gemini in the settings.
Turns out typing “gem” in the settings search is not enough. Only typing “Gemini” returned a result.
Curiosity got the better of me and I had a listen to this “band”.
If you had told me it was Rival Sons, I would have totally believed it. That’s to say, it’s a pretty decent interpretation of the genre, but nothing ground breaking.
It’s sad to me that this is the case. The music is really fine genre fodder which means it will get listens
My gf got one of those emails, but she doesnt have the Gemini app installed on her phone. All of the instruction articles I can find only explain how to turn it off if you have the app.
Does not having the app mean that she’s safe from this, or does it mean that she needs to download the app to disable the “feature”?
Do you know if they ever ended up making any of these? I’m struggling to really understand “non-adhesive adherence” as well as other parts of that abstract
This is a good idea. I think one risk, though is that the specialist companies that hold all the personal data then become massive targets and a single breach would be catastrophic.
Still better than the way things currently are, though.
How do you get around the requirement to run the official app somewhere?
I run a WhatsApp and signal bridge, but not recommend running the official app on a phone
Given other comments in this thread and the reactions I’ve seen on mastodon, people are freaking out, but I just don’t understand why. Can someone more intelligent please take the time to ELI5?
I’m using .home and have not had any issues. Would you mind sharing what problems you’ve come across so I know what to expect?
I use this and it’s been completely flawless from day one. The documentation is up there with the best I’ve seen, and the matrix room always has someone willing to help explain further
I did. The local files have GPS data visible in the phone’s gallery app, but the same file in immich doesn’t have it
Over a week at this point
Done. Link here for anyone in the future who might come across this issue https://github.com/immich-app/immich/issues/11280
I’m on 1.108
Couldn’t find anything obvious in the settings either
I did, but couldn’t find anything
I think you’re missing an important aspect to containers and that is being able to easily define your infrastructure as code.
That makes server migrations a breeze
I don’t run as root because I’ve always been told I shouldn’t. I don’t know enough about anything to be contradicting stuff like this. It has always seemed weird to me that we don’t run as root and then just sudo everything, though.
What is the reason we don’t run as root?
I have no issue writing a compose file. Dockge offers a bit more than that with logs and buttons for common commands which makes it easier and quicker to manage than through SSH.
To each their own 🙂
This is pretty much my situation. “Away from home” for me isn’t just a trip to the shops, it means being away for weeks at a time. I need to be able to fix things remotely if needed.
I’ve seen people recommend SSH, which seems worse because that would give potential hackers access to the whole system.
VPN is a very good suggestion, and what I’ve implemented now. Thank you to everyone who contributed
Everyone calls themselves senior because that’s the only type of position recruiters look for.
I’m a mid level dev, but I’m encouraged by recruiters to apply for senior positions because their clients are actually looking for a range of levels
