3·2 years agoI turned it off a long time ago when it started replacing entire sentences. So annoying!!
I still have the suggestions on but I might turn that off too because it keeps suggesting words in other languages even though I’m on the English keyboard and don’t know much in any other language (and the only other keyboard I have is the Spanish one).
Also the dictionary doesn’t have a shit ton of common words in it for some reason, so if I can’t think of the proper spelling I have to look it up anyway. Which is also annoying because search engines suck and I never have a hard copy handy.

11·2 years agoIdk how I feel about this whole thing. We had the bundle for a while and then they added another standalone Hulu subscription on top. And tried to convince us that’s what we wanted/asked for.
I don’t even want to pay for one subscription, let alone twice for the same one.

Technology@lemmy.world•Using AI to spot edible mushrooms could kill you | AI tools are good for some things, but don’t trust your health to apps that make frequent mistakesEnglish
1·2 years agoHonestly it kind of makes me wonder who I am trusting to serve me safe mushrooms.
I guess I always assume food I get from a store (or restaurant) is safe (unless it’s expired or has other obvious issues). And like, most foods have brand recognition of some sort (which may or may not mean anything). But I couldn’t tell you a single company that harvests and sells mushrooms. I mean the blue container makes me feel safe (???) but like…I don’t even know if that’s a marketing thing or just what every company does.
Anyway now I am going to look all of this up.

1·2 years agoProbably equally as confident as the people commenting in Facebook groups
Although at least when asking in a group like that you will probably get a bunch of different answers, which should sow some doubt, as opposed to only getting one answer

41·2 years agoSo I attempted to look up the effects of smelling flowers on the lungs for science.
Unfortunately (but not surprisingly) the first few scientific results were about essential oils, the remaining results were just about smell sensitivities.
The interesting thing though, is that this study nebulized people (very small study) with essential oils and found out that they had better running performance afterward.
All this to say, you couldn’t pay me enough to do that lol
