Ah, got cease and desisted. I see. I still think Stoat is a weird choice, but fair enough.

That’s, uh… that’s a decision.

3·6 days agoProton is just a compatibility layer to make Linux run Windows games.
Normally if you install a game via Steam Proton just kind of works.
https://github.com/Open-Wine-Components/umu-launcher should let you use Proton without using Steam.
And yeah, you want the entire folder titled ‘Dispatch.’
Linux won’t really recognize .exes. Those are a Windows thing, so you have to run them via some sort of compatibility software like Proton or WINE.

1·7 days agoGet the files transferred from what? Your Win11 laptop? Because it’s reasonably likely that the files won’t work properly if transferred- Windows executables don’t just work on Linux.
Also what games specifically are you trying to play? For BG3 you’ll probably need to find the Linux version or get Proton set up. For TotK you can probably use most of the same files, but you’ll need a new emulator install. There’s roughly a thousand Switch emulators so pick your poison and following the install instructions.

1·3 months agoUh, really? The English version is pretty convincing that it is- it even lists three different methods they used over the years. The sources seem convincing, but I’m quite literally judging the book by it’s title there.
