You’d be amazed how many people are competent developers but have very little knowledge outside of what their job requires. I have friends in hiring positions and they see it all the time. Inflexible workflows and the complete inability to work if part of that workflow ceases to function are unfortunately common.

I dislike that people are relying on them to do all their thinking for them while also being incredibly interested in the tech behind them.

For 15 years, Apple has always lagged behind Android on implementing new features, preferring to wait until they felt their implementations were ready for mainstream consumption and it’s always worked out for them. They should have stuck to that instead of jumping on the AI bandwagon with a half baked technology that most people don’t want or need.

Fortunately this won’t be my first dance with dual booting Linux, I’ve tried it a half dozen times since the late 90s, going as far back as multibooting booting slackware, nt4 and win98. I’m sure I’ll go through a few distros before settling on one that works for me. I’ve also got 6 drives in my pc (2 nvme, 2 sata ssd and 2 HDD) so I have lots of room to play.

All of the random BS it requires is a bit of a turn off but the 10ish percent drop in gaming performance is a no go. Linux with proton should outperform the os the games are designed to run on but here we are.

My steam deck has taught me that I’ll be completely OK running linuxn(probably arch) as my daily driver with a win 11 dual boot (maybe just a vm?) for things that simply won’t work on proton.

Except their mice are built better and last longer than any of the popular gaming brands. I’ve owned 4 logitech nice in my life and that would be every mouse I’ve owned since 1995 and only one of those actually died. People complain about their razer mice lasting 3 years and then go out and buy another one as if that’s normal meanwhile you can easily get 5+ years out of a logitech mouse.

Helium 3 is what we’re planning to use in fusion, that’s the point.

Scene releases are almost always purchased legitimately by the group for cracking. The most popular repackers usually use scene releases as their source.

The electricity bill shouldn’t be that bad. Seeding torrents doesn’t put a lot of load on the system. Depending on your hardware it could be pretty low power consumption. On the high end it might hit 4kwh a day.

My experience with Linux is very limited other than my steam deck. For cracked games, if there is no Linux version available, I usually install them on my windows pc first, copy the games folder to the deck then add it to the library as a non steam game. After that you just specify the proton version in the games steam properties and it runs.

Ideally you would want native Linux versions. Those are few and far between but they do get released from time to time.

I’ve never paid for a private tracker but users can donate if they want. Like I said, I have a firm belief that piracy should be free. Never paid for it, never will. A good tracker with top site bots and well seeded torrents is good enough for me. Releases are on there within minutes, download speeds that max out my connection are good enough for me.
