I’m an early gen Y. I knew maybe 4 people who had a cell phone, and only one of them could record a 30 second, shitty quality video. Kinda glad phones weren’t in constant use when I was in school.

Yes! Trillian was awesome! I used it fairly religiously from the early to mid 00s. Combined my ICQ, Yahoo messenger, MSN messenger, and AIM. I miss that beautiful, convenient piece of software.
“Nazi” website lol. Ok buddy.
Twitter has a pretty solid metal (music) community that I’ve come to know and appreciate over time. We share new bands, our opinions on albums, all that good stuff.
Not everything has to be related to politics. People aren’t “suspicious” because they don’t share all your views.
Given this choice, I’m confident Lemmy will double down, every time.
Just curious, why were wanting to replace Mullvad?
I purchase the family plan of YouTube Music. In addition to the music, it comes with ad free YouTube videos. I watch a lot of yt so it’s a no brainer for me. Never used any other streaming service so I can’t compare.
Don’t you want to activate your washer when you’re at the restaurant?
Consume. Then, consume more.
They charged outrageous prices for their last tour. I never cared for them, so it didn’t impact me.
protecting the interests of marginalized groups
What does this even mean? Unless not caring hurts their bottom line, why should Twitch care?
Little pig boy comes from the dirt.
You people always make the same excuses.
“No! It’s not the people I align with who are violent! It’s the paid actors! No, it’s the Feds!”
You have absolutely no evidence that all of the violence is being committed by “zionist infiltrators”.
Influence and impact are not interchangeable. I would agree they have some influence (indirect) as they affect their competitors and I purchase products from their competitors. They don’t impact (direct) me as I do not use any of their services or products. Apple and I do not have a direct relationship.
That’s silly. I own a Samsung phone. Checking email and the weather on it hardly “impacts” my life. Furthermore, you have the option to move to another platform if it bothers you that much. If people don’t leave, that indicates their users are willing to tolerate these issues.
But that’s not illegal. Apple can’t force competitors to be influenced by them. If Samsung, Google and the like choose to be sheep, that’s on them. I don’t use Apple products. They’re not impacting my life.
To each their own, but Linux makes up 4% of PC OS market share. Can’t blame a company for not supporting such a small percentage.
I don’t get this. What is the point? Why would anyone care where a billionaire is flying to and from? Just for kicks?
Thanks I hate it.
2015 - 2018 I pirated very, very little. Didn’t need to. Between Netflix, Hulu, and HBO, I wanted for nothing. Then, every time I went to the bathroom, someone was creating their own streaming service. Suddenly everyone was pulling their IP from Netflix and Hulu. Netflix wouldn’t stop raising their prices. Their original shows are ok, but their movies are terrible.
Fine. I’ll start my own library. With external storage, and ROMS.
Wait I’m already doing that.
