That’s what they’re doing. That’s why they remove the headphone jack in favour for a slimmer, lighter phone. Their market research showed that’s more important to a bigger portion of their customers.

Even just going off the article you posted “helped” is a strong word in regards to distributing malware through their framework. It appears that their framework had simply been hijacked by hackers to distribute malware and they had no involvement in that.
I’m not saying they’re trustworthy but the situation isn’t nearly as bad as this biased summary suggests.
The same website has rated express VPN as one of the most trustworthy vpns in their most recent review. Based on the high amount of independent audits the company is performing.

Definitely do more research. I’m going to look into it myself but I’m paying until June anyways and I don’t think an immediate switch is necessary.

Again? Hasn’t changed for me since they started doing that in November. YouTube is quite annoying to use for me these days, the site takes forever to load and only starts loading when I switch to the tab. Best thing to do is adding everything to a queue, videos load normally then for some reason. As a result I’m using YouTube less though, so not necessarily a bad thing.
There is still a difference between basically nothing and literally nothing. Spotify is better than pirating and CDs/vinyl/digital directly from them is better than Spotify.
You’re not hurting the companies, you’re hurting the artists. I’m not saying don’t pirate at all, especially from artists like Taylor swift. But maybe if you’re listening to a small artist, especially if they’re independent, consider buying their cd.
It’s a free account, what’d be stopping you from just creating a new one?

I read this morning that return dislike no longer works, apparently YouTube changed something in the backend. Might want to verify that and potentially remove it from the list for now

I just want to change my battery and get a phone for that no people had to die In some poor country.
Like seriously, what’s the percentage of people that run machine learning algorithms on their phone? 0.0000000001%?

Building and maintaining one isn’t really the concern I have with this one, nuclear reactors are incredibly safe these days. What are they going to do with the nuclear waste? That’s the real issue here. Governments can barely figure that out, how’s a megacorp going to do that in an ethical way? I already see them dumping it in a cave in some poor country in africa.

If they do I hope someone finds out about it. Should at least be quite a hefty fine.

You’re working on the assumption that they collect that data anyways and if they do then I kind of agree. But in the EU for example it would be illegal for them to collect that data so I sincerely hope theyre not doing that. Well, actually I kind of hope they are doing that and someone finds out about it.
Assuming that no one is breaking any laws here I’d rather get generic ads than targeted since I’m perfectly capable of making my own purchase decisions and don’t want to be manipulated into buying some garbage I don’t need. But more importantly, I don’t want some random companies out there having a detailed profile of me, that’s super dystopian to me. What if that falls into the wrong hands? Oh wait, it would already be in the wrong hands.

According to the article it doesn’t apply to all users, presumably the EU is exempt from this change in policy (because it’s illegal)
LOL, 10m extension cord. I mean you’ve already established that you don’t give a crap about sound quality with your first point but that’s just ridiculous. Not to mention the 10m cord that your dragging around the house.
