I host a handful of Internet facing sites/applications from my NAS and have had no issues. Just make sure you know how to configure your firewall correctly and you’ll be fine.
Are these countries even safe to host a VPN server in?
Edit: Just checked my VPN (Proton) and it has options to connect to Myanmar and Albania. Nifty.
So far in this thread only one person has actually shared a source of any kind. Care to share with the class?

Sorry. I’m a child.
I’m wondering if they managed to break that, too. I tried forcing my Roku to use my pi-hole by blocking Google DNS (what it seems to be hardcoded with) at my router and the Roku just stops recognizing that it even has an Internet connection.
Do you have emails from them disabled? I got an email about the launch, but yeah, I haven’t seen much mention of it elsewhere.
You get ads to subscribe to a service while using the free tier? Huh, that’s weird…
You’re just going to rub people the wrong way being condescending like that. Find another way to try and bring people to your point of view.
And no, I’m not a shill for Google or Microsoft, I’m a happily paying user of Proton’s products.
Oh, piss off.
Is this just for EU? Being in the states, will I be losing my Overseerr and Homarr web apps?
Utility prices keep going up, regardless. I’d rather they use the money for something useful.
What is it with water departments being such Luddites?! Having lived in a few different cities in a few different states, they always seem to be the one utility that’s the biggest pain in the ass to work with. Gotta go down to their city office to start service - make sure to bring a voided check if you want to set up an auto draft to pay the bill because they don’t take cards. Online account management? Nah, the closest they have to an online presence is their About page on the city website.
WHY?!
I recently converted to Linux and am loving the FOSS environment. Together with my NAS which covers my “cloud storage” and media server needs, I’m having an awesome time not having to give away money and/or my information just to use my own hardware.
Ads are a shitty part of the internet experience, but what exactly is your point here…?
has enough literacy skills to pick up on humor in more than just the shared image
I thought it was funny, anyway…
I’m not sure long term viability is a huge concern for them as long as they can make a dollar today.
I missed the word “post” on the first read through and was rather concerned about your method of protest.
a tragedy awaiting the overconfidenta fun destination for billionaire excursions! We’ll let them work out the kinks first, you just gotta know how to sell it.
