Continuing on the linked post, I wonder if another option could be to simply wait for the game to become ported/ready for emulation. I have zero experience with the world of console emulators.
Please advise 😊

I mean, they probably won’t be perfect but it looks like people can get something going pretty quickly.
Also, there seems to be more work on specific builds of different emulators than a cohesive general emulator at the moment.
Switch 2 games are already being dumped and run on different hardware. Dont give fucking Nintendo any money!
It’s nice to see a place free from the invasive Nintendo bootlickers
What a culture! Especially when the company just literally hates everybody and anybody. The only thing Nintendo is down for, is the almighty $$$
TIL, thanks.
I seriously wanna stop paying for exclusives. I just wanna stick to indie games when they go on sale on my Switch 2.
Dont give fucking Nintendo any money! Word. That’s why I’m aksing. 😁 So, what’s your ETA on the remake of OoT? 🥹🙏
It was already dumped the day before launch, running at 15-30 fox on Lichii, just wait a month or two and it’ll have playable frame rates.
15-30 FPS is already better than Ocarina running on an N64 lol
Mostly, I hate the world.
But when some random internet stranger says
It was already dumped the day before launch, running at 15-30 fox on Lichii, just wait a month or two and it’ll have playable frame rates. I hate nothing.
Ah my bad, I thought the question was regarding game dumps in general and then you were just discussing your reasoning why. As another commenter said though Ocarina is already out there. Good luck enjoying both the game and not giving Nintendo money :D
How does one learn to look for this solution? I haven’t emulated since PS2 was figured out lol.
Emulator is Lichii
Rules say cannot link but dump can be found on a popular Russian tracker.
I’d wait a little till it runs better though.
Thanks! I’ll probably have to wait a bit longer for Mac arm support. It’s my latest/powerful GPU device at the moment. Can’t wait to play OOT for like the hundredth time lol
Iirc the first news are about a month old now, pretty recent stuff. Having followed console modding and emulation for some decades now, from my experience, patience’s the key.
On the Switch 2 specifically, I made a thread of posts a while back, listing my irritations with the console and its overdependance and overreliance on internet connections.
But if you’d be interested in following news on the matter, GBAtemp’s a good source for that, and adjacent to that there’s also !emulation@sh.itjust.works and !emulator_news@crust.piefed.social (latter one run by me hehe). In fact, GBAtemp has RSS feeds, so I think I’ll link to Piefed too.
I get 60fps apart from shader stutter and random crash in oot-r on a 7950 and 7800xt. uses like 5-6gb vram. If there are a lot of new shaders at once it will crawl but only once, same as we had with switch1. Within the span of playing up to getting zeldas lullaby and entering kakariko, I updated like 6 times and watched the visual glitches go away in twos. At this rate ill give the remaining issues a couple days to a week.
In dk bonanza I got to the little gem people area and that slowed down significantly but the next area was back to regular fps.
arch btwcachy, bazzite on a lesser pc will be tested tomorrowWait what?
I am playing switch 2 games on my Android handheld already.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Switch 2 ran quantum computing one year from now.
I’m not sure what to do with that piece of information or how it affects the timeline, but, thanks! 😊
