I’m sure they will be passing laws soon to make AI sessions a separate legal entity from the provider.
There are no rogue agents. AI by them self does not have agency
The mischaracterization of their business is deliberate market manipulation. They are all trying to race for AGI, except what they are trying to keep out of the news cycle is that AGI is an F1 race while they’re actually playing minigolf.
Doesn’t intelligence require concioussness? If so, the metaphor would be better comparing f1 car with a matchbox model of it.
The definitions of both of those words are hard to define but under most definitions, no, not at all
afaik it’s more the other way around, the leading theory i’ve heard is that consciousness emerges from conflicting cognitive processes (spotting food next to a predator) to arbitrate in the interest of self-preservation
I think it’s just an easier way for the news to describe it to the every man. In reality, this is a combination of sandbox failures, what I’d have to imagine is incorrect prompting, and most concerningly, alignment issues in the models themselves.

These stories are getting more and more outlandish. I guess if you have to compete with the rest of what’s happening in the news you really have to be creative.
I don’t know, guys. For me, they all seem to have gotten less intelligent more recently. It takes more effort than usual to get a correct response from them as they don’t seem to notice more nuances. Even when it comes to simple technical setup questions, they seem to correct themselves a few times.
