    I live in a shithole of a town whose buildings are lined with CAT5 copper cables. Those reach 10 Gbps up to 55 meters with good quality active equipment (switches, repeaters, OLTs), which is the next problem: in this town, the municipality owns the fiber and they have “better” things to spend their money on than changing the residential equipment to be 10GBASE-T, or IEEE 802.3an-2006 compatible. My ISP of course takes advantage of the situation and overcharges me for my measly 1 Gbps but hey… At least they gave me a public IP for free 🤣
