Codes used to mean programs. Like hydrodynamics codes. A coder is a person who writes computer codes.

It’s a gift link. You won’t hit the paywall during the next couple weeks unless at least one of the following is true:

      • You’ve disabled javascript
      • You’re running a browser extension which strips off the access token (you may also see this problem if you’re accessing the post via mastodon instead of lemmy)
      • your device desperately needs a reboot

        Why would a reboot matter?

Mostly because really messed up state on your device can keep Javascript from running.

I just tapped the link in Voyager, using regular Firefox with UBO

I’m using Firefox with ublock origin and no problems. Maybe Voyager strips out the access token from the URL?

I tapped the link on Voyager, opening it in Firefox Focus, and it worked just fine.

There’s a fairly small list of names it refuses. Almost all names are ok; the author’s is not.

Quick allowlisting to gaslight the journalist.

Jokes aside, this is more about this topic:

Names may be omitted from ChatGPT either because of privacy requests or to avoid persistent hallucinations by the AI.

And these conversations are important to have during the evolution of AI systems.
