If you want you can code it up already. The design is finalised but dessalines and nutomic have other priorities right now.Phiresky is working on it already. You can help them out if you want.

Ludrol@szmer.infoto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do you use anything to archive content for yourself or others? (research, videos, articles, and anything that could be lost to time or censorship)English1·10 months agoDepends on the threat model.
NOAA and others gets underfunded/change of menagement and need to close down open access to stuff.
or
Data becomes illegal to possess and feds start knocking on Web Archive doors.
or
Web archive will do something stupid and will get sued/DDOSed
In only one very unlikely scenario it won’t be availble due to recent events. But still redundancy would be good regardless of recent stuff.

Still AI misalignment is a real issue. I just don’t remember which model was studied and had been found out that it was missaligned.
I have read some headline that said that some of these models just measure age of a patient and a quality of the machine making photos.
Ludrol@szmer.infoto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Trying to pirate a physical book. Where do I get thinner printer paper?English6·1 year agoIf this is a textbook that you need to have in class. I would say go to the print shop and order couple of copies for you and your classmates (They also want cheaper textbooks). I think the biggest problem will be to have usable binding as loose or stapled paper won’t cut it. A print shop will have the machines and expertise to do it relatively cheaply.
I saw once pirated textbook in class and it was done like that. I think half the class had a pirated copy.

Ludrol@szmer.infoto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking to build my first PC in almost 30 years; What should I be on the look out for?English4·2 years agoFor AI/ML workloads the VRAM is king
As you are starting out something older with lots of VRAM would be better than something faster with less VRAM for the same price.
The 4060 ti is a good baseline to compare against as it has a 16GB variant
“Minimum” VRAM for ML is around 10GB the more the better, less VRAM could be usable but with sacrefices with speed and quality.
If you like that stuff in couple of months, you could sell the GPU that you would buy and swap it with 4090 super
For AMD support is confusing as there is no official support for rocm (for mid range GPUs) on linux but someone said that it works.
There is new ZLUDA that enables running CUDA workloads on ROCm
https://www.xda-developers.com/nvidia-cuda-amd-zluda/
I don’t have enough info to reccomend AMD cards
There is !canvas@toast.ooo and it’s open source.

(There are more clones of r/place after 2016 so maybe other one will be better like OurWorldOfPixels)
If you set a background to your town of choice I would guess it will be close enough for a group of friends.
