• It reduces probability of civilian causalities (improves their international image, reduces incentives for affected people to join the fight against them)
• If there is some failure and the center isn’t disabled, they still reduced productivity. I’d say indefinitely
• Tactic could theoretically be used to threaten or feint. For example, publicly list five target but only bother bombing three, and you get the benefits of scaring away people at the other two without spending weapons. This could also be used to manipulate enemy logistics, like moving their defenses or response teams to one place and then attacking another.

Yes, although protests can complement that process of building dual power, they don’t have to come afterwards. Like you’ve said, protests on their own accomplish nothing, yet they can still be an important way to gain awareness and introduce a broader range of people to these politics and groups involved.

I think the description starts off too technical - “link aggregator” is correct, but not a term that many people know about. “Selfhosted” might even be lost on most people.

Perhaps something more simple would help as a first introduction, there’s plenty of opportunity for the more technical-minded to learn more. Since the micronation is unrecognized, within the territorial claim of the UK and easily within reach of their law enforcement, I wonder what the Principality of Sealand would have to do before the UK attempt to enforce their laws on them. Would the huge pressure of recording and film industries have enough power to compel them? Sealand have gotten into serious armed shenanigans before, which if one chooses not to interpret their governance as valid, would effectively be ransom.

A US president is still beholden to haute capital who own the mass media, the tech industries, the supermarkets, etc… A hypothetical socialist president would turn out worse than Allende. Tearing down the White House doesn’t hurt capital. When we say that Trump can’t just do anything they want, we’re not talking about legality. You’re right, it’s very clear that Trump’s regime disregards legal issues. They have strong institutional power over the writing, judgement and enforcement of law.

We’re talking about pleasing those who give Trump power - the upper echelon of the rich, the owning class. Trump’s regime needs mass media for messaging (think of social media and news owners like Zuck, Musk, Bezos, Murdoch, … ), it needs technology (add Thiel, Ellison, … ), and obviously it needs money.

If Trump and friends turn those supporters against him, that’s a very real issue that would lose them material power. They’re pressured into compromising or conforming to the wants of those supporters, so that they continue giving power to the regime. This is what people mean by a “dictatorship of capital” - those with huge amounts of capital dictate the country.
