My cat literally loves hiding behind my display port connected monitor, bumps into it all the time, it has never disconnected or stopped working. Your cable might suck.

Nah, you have interpretation problems and a little cursing on the internet is quite inoffensive.

I hate this shit as well. People use “The Earth” to make it sound good for the environment, but it’s actually just human greed we’re always talking about. Take sustainability for example, you ask teens about it, and a lot of them will say it’s about saving the environment. It’s not. It’s about trying to sustain capitalism and our consumerist lifestyle to go on forever while pretending to give a fuck about the environment.

The apps already use your phone number, on pc you connect to your phone app. But it used to be possible to change your account phone number, and that’s what they seem to have blocked.

It’s not a problem, it’s a business opportunity. The more they break, the more they can sell you a 2000 dollars phone.

My win 11 pc (decently modern Ryzen 5600G) used to boot in 10~20 seconds, and then suddenly was taking 10+ minutes to boot. The problem? An external hdd. Removed that and instantly went back to 10~20 seconds boot. The people above 100% are having some sort of issue and just don’t know.

He has 5X the subscriber count of Drama Nexus. But he is a musician youtuber, if that’s not your thing, you likely wouldn’t have heard of him.

Gamers Nexus is nowhere near that relevant for them to care. More likely to be related to Davie504 that recently got his third copyright strike on a video where he plays the Moonlight Sonata on bass.

While we still have that option… I’d bet money that the second when most people start deciding to DIY their own home tech, they’ll lobby these techs as unsafe and dangerous and potentially ban their use outright, or require special licenses and degrees.

This is the problem with the “we’re not talking about politics in here” approach. A lot of smaller companies, entities, “influencers”… will attempt to become apolitical, a ploy to market to as many people as possible, but it’s ill advised. You have to make your beliefs actually clear from the start. And after a certain size, you must avoid becoming too personal about things. Get a PR specialist if you can, even. It’ll save a lot of headache to kearn you can’t please everybody, and there’ll always be someone dissatisfied with you, so you better choose early who they’ll be.

Again people on Lemmy show that they can’t do basic reading and interpretation. For fuck’s sake people, it was obviously sarcasm.
Ah yes, the famous communist fascist… You liberals are just insane.

I feel like I have to watch it again, but it’s brilliant. A fine piece of satire, subtle and to the face in the right measures.

It’s not particularly about him, his channel, or his content. If his channel had been declining, that’s usually a downward trend. What happened instead is that LTT lost 50% of their viewers suddenly in the last month. Other YouTubers have also stated that in the last month, out of nowhere, their viewership dropped crazily, up to 60%. However, LTT analyzed that although they have half as many viewers, ‘like ratio’ skyrocketed and ad revenue stayed the same. Josh Strife Hayes made a video blaming YT’s new feature “restricted mode” for this, which, when active, blocks a lot of videos for seemingly no reason. Some others have also noted the problem and are investigating, but a lot of information points out to something youtube did as the cause of the issue.

Yeah, this is the way to go these days. My bank offers this feature in app, and I have a separate virtual credit card for each service. All I need to do to cancel a service/subscription is to cancel that credit card. Good luck trying to get more money from me. This is especially useful for those “free trials”, sign up with a credit card that deletes itself after 24h, and bye bye.

I’d hazard a guess that it’s Brazil.

You do know that above 50 USD taxes are 92% right? Check it out, a product for 1000 reais will have 900 reais in taxes. It’s bonkers. But technically, it has always been like this, but it wasn’t truly enforced/audited. Now that they are collecting the taxes at the point of sale, you pretty much pay for two products to buy one.

Below 50usd the taxes are considerably lower, and just above 50 usd they get a 20 dollars rebate on taxes, so it’s okayish to buy.
I bought a seagate 4tb drive, cheapest 4tb at the time, on Amazon if I’m not mistaken.
Oh, you’re lucky then. NET/Claro locks down all their modens for consumers, and I know that most other ISPs around here do the same.

Nothing of the sort in Brazil. Stuff only gets replaced when broken or completely outdated. And any stuff that might work gets poached by insiders before seeing the light of day. You might get some stuff if you work in IT, out of question for anybody else.
Here people sell 2nd gen I5 + rx 580 pcs as “gamer pc” at 70% the price of a modern system. It’s absolutely bonkers.
Shit! I’m soon to go Linux and now there’s one more thing for me ro figure out then. I have some stuff (not a lot, but some important stuff) on OneNote, lucky me that I made the switch to Obsidian a couple of years ago.
