That’s the real difference to me, maintenance. Planes have a strict schedule of inspection and replacement. Moms minivan last saw an oil change before the kids made it to middle school. There’s going to be some failures.

That’s going to be very interesting to see failure rates and modes on the road over time.
AI is getting so intrusive I’m considering a land line.

Women tend to dominate care positions, nursing, teaching, and child care. None of them are going to be touched by AI, other than massive head aches caused in teaching kids to lazy to learn. Outside of those, women are in no different position than men when facing automation.

Even if they were, shut the fuck up about it. You didn’t see a damn thing.

So is there a resale value on these? And what kind of serial number system are they using?

In 18 months I can see us where the Star Wars universe portrayed droids. As in ‘Oh great, another talking tin can, just what the galaxy needs. Can someone turn this thing off?’

Never said it was an easy lift. There’s a long road between where we are and a functioning society. And currently most of Europe is in the lead.

We need legislation with teeth before they manage to get this in every house. It’s going to happen. Your phone, TV, doorbell, car, crosswalks and street signs are all going to be recording and tracking you eventually. Just recognize that’s going to happen no matter what, and get real oversight and rules into place now. If we wait until it’s all locked, the ruling party will never let it end.

Apparently they’re looking at tying together hundreds of stand alone generators from Caterpillar.
Give me a Kis…Hu…Hand sha…you know what, text me.

Yeah I think the one that shut them down best was the BBS reporter asking ‘If Hamas was holding the hostages in Israel, would you still be bombing them like you are in Gaza?’

Boilerplate code is where it rocks. The syntax for that API function you use once every 5 years and no way remember, it’s got you covered. It can knock out helper functions like a boss too. Nothing complex, that takes too long to fix, but the text filter and type conversion stuff is quicker than typing them out yourself.

Something else, very similar motif. It’s a sci-fi pulp novel.

I think the story neuromancer had workers who would show up have their brain chip turn them into meat puppets for 8 hours then they would wake up not knowing what they had done to earn their checks. It was a cheap labor scheme for day workers or prostitutes. I still think that’s really the capitalist goal.

Pretty sure that’s the Boeing 777 and they discovered that after a crash off Brazil.

I use autopilot all the time on my boat. No way in hell I’d trust it in a car. They all occasionally get suicidal. Mine likes to lull you into a sense of false security, then take a sharp turn into a channel marker or cargo ship at the last second.

I mean look, those Russians were done using them anyway, and why let a perfectly good kidney go to waste?

From what I’m seeing out of Germany, NATO isn’t going anywhere. The US might not be a continuing part of it.
Also there’s still an off chance China might play a part in Ukraine. They have Putin by the short and curlies, and could offer a better deal than the US for mineral rights. It might hinge on if Trump pisses off Xi with this trade war crap, or gets in the way of him taking Taiwan.
Will Xi have stopped laughing at how pathetic Trump is by the time Putin shows up?
